NSW Public Works managed the procurement and delivery of a 5-star Green Star refurbishment to a collection of 1800s buildings, creating a reimagined space.

The Western Sydney Startup Hub provides 1,500 square metres of affordable co-working space to startups, scaleups and small businesses as well as programs and events to support their growth, amazing amenities and a community of like-minded entrepreneurs to share their journey with.

NSW Public Works were engaged by Property & Development NSW to undertake the procurement of the building contractor through a two-phase procurement (expression of Interest followed by a select tender) for the new Western Sydney Startup Hub officially opened in October 2022.We were also engaged in the role of the Principal’s Authorised Person to administer the delivery of the construction project.

The works involved heritage conservation works across multiple buildings including slate re-roofing, sandstone restorations, structural repairs, chimney repairs and window repairs. The full refurbishment of a number of buildings into modern office space, meeting rooms, function spaces and grounds was undertaken as part of the heritage upgrade. Construction commenced on site in June 2021 and was completed in July 2022.
