The Public Works team provided procurement strategy development and project management for DPIRD’s program to deliver 136 fish diversion screens across the Northern Basin of the Darling–Barwon River system. PW developed a tailored procurement strategy that split the project into two work packages based on pump size and site complexity. This approach maximised market participation, improved bid quality, and supported efficient delivery. We also conducted site assessments and workshops with stakeholders to identify key risks and delivery challenges. The project was completed on time and on budget. It met environmental and operational goals while supporting local contractors and riverbank infrastructure improvements.
