Insurance & Care NSW (icare) is a NSW Government organisation which was created as a result of a reform to the NSW workers compensation system and related agencies.  The creation of the new organisation brought together a number of agencies that were previously accommodated separately across six sites throughout the Sydney CBD.

NSW Public Works managed the project to consolidate the different business units into one location, meeting the requirements of the NSW Government Policy and project objectives.  A staged relocation and fit out of the Kent Street site involved scope definition, management of design, construction and project risk.  Collaboration and cohesive stakeholder management were fundamental to the success of the project to ensure operational readiness with minimal impact on service delivery.

The result is a space that has improved communication and created a contemporary and functional work environment, one that attracts staff and leads to improved work practices.  The implementation of this shift accommodates a changed business model and supports a new organisational culture which promotes external connections and internal collaboration.
